Argentina
Lutheran Hour Ministries - Argentina is known as "Fundacion Cristo Para Todas Las Naciones" (Foundation of Christ for All Nations) or FCPTLN. FCPLTN produces 30 - second radio spots entitled "Enfoque" (Focus) that reach people by using thought - provoking phrases about daily life issues such as marriage, divorce, friendship, and violence. These spots are broadcast on 21 stations to a potential audience of more than 20 million listeners in Argentina, Chile, Paraguay, and Uruguay. Furthermore, tapes of these programs are sent to stations in Spain for broadcast to Spanish - speaking people in Europe. The extensive audience of FCPTLN's Radio Outreach makes it one of the most useful tools for spreading the Gospel throughout the Spanish - speaking world.

Australia
The Lutheran Hour Ministries – Australia office
has been working towards LHM goals for over 50 years.
The ministry reaches the community through production
and distribution of radio and TV spots, videos, cassettes,

Cameroon
Lutheran Hour Ministries’ center in Cameroon is
called The Voice of Hope – Lutheran Hour Ministries.
The ministry center in Cameroon has been open since
February of 2001. In the years since its opening, The
Voice of Hope – LHM has found much strength in
their Equipping the Saints program. By training
people of the community to help spread the Gospel of
Christ, the ministry center can touch more lives through
its volunteers and their passion for communicating God’s
love.

LHM-Cameroon >>
Canada
Television plays an important role in spreading the
Gospel throughout Canada. “The Lutheran Hour”
is currently broadcast each week on 71 stations and
special broadcasts featuring Canadian guest speakers
are usually prepared for Canada’s Thanksgiving
and Canada Day. In addition, Christmas and Easter TV
specials are carried by commercial television stations
every year.

China Since the 1990's, Lutheran Hour Ministries in China has distributed over a million audiocassettes to the Chinese people. The tapes include Christian sermons, a 12-cassette teaching series based on the Apostles' Creed, the Psalms, selected Bible stories, Christmas hymns, and other Christian instrumental and choral music. The cassette program is currently evolving into a compact disc program to reach modern audiences.

Egypt
Sometimes, something as simple as Print Materials (brochures
and booklets) can lead to significant changes in people’s
lives. Though LHM – Egypt does not produce or
broadcast its own LHM TV or radio programs, the ministry
center serves a special purpose as a “response
center.” The Egyptian listeners who are moved
by the radio programs coming out of Lebanon or Monaco
utilize LHM – Egypt for interpersonal guidance
and support. They receive numerous brochures, booklets,
and texts to help them with their Christian journey.

Ethiopia
The Berhan Media Ministry or BMM (as Lutheran Hour Ministries
is known in Ethiopia) has had to work very hard to spread
the Gospel. Radio programs are one of the strongest
tools used by LHM ministry centers around the world.
However, the Ethiopian government has prohibited the
broadcast of religious radio programs. To make up for
this loss, BMM has put tremendous efforts into its outreach
programs. Most significantly, BMM’s Christian
rallies have empowered thousands of people to seek a
deeper understanding of Christ. These rallies, attended
by no less than 1,000 people, are weekends full of Christian
films, dramas, music, and mass evangelization.

Finland
Lutheran Hour Ministries – Finland benefits greatly
from the success of their partner, a Gospel band known
as The Road. Working closely with churches and
pastors, The Road is an important tool for reaching
more than 50,000 young people each year by performing
150 to 200 concerts in schools and city auditoriums.

Ghana
Lutheran Hour Ministries – Ghana (known as Lutheran
Media Ministry or LMM) has had a long history of successful
Bible Correspondence Courses (BCC) and drama
programs. Adding to the strength of the ministry, LMM’s

is a ministry team that reaches out to people with the
Gospel of Jesus Christ through music.

Guatemala
The Lutheran Hour office in Guatemala, called Cristo
Para Todas Las Naciones (CPTLN), meaning “Christ
for All Nations,” has utilized a variety of media
to spread the Gospel. Besides radio, television, Internet,
booklets, and fliers, newspapers have been an important
part of the ministry center’s outreach. Equipping
the Saints, however, has enabled CPTLN – Guatemala
to effectively reach more people through interpersonal
experience. By giving lay (everyday) people the means
to spread the Gospel, they can go out into their communities
and communicate Christ’s love in a more familiar
and personal way.

Hong Kong
LHM – Hong Kong has developed a free 24-hour interactive
hotline targeted at children and teens. This Touch
the Bugs hotline features nine recorded programs
which include Bible stories, social guidance through
spiritual based advice, and even a young DJ. Thousands
of people call the hotline every month, many of which
leave a message so that LHM – Hong Kong can respond
to the specific spiritual needs of the individual.

Dating back nearly 5,000 years, India is not only rich in language, culture, beliefs and religion, but it is one of the last remaining countries in the world with a caste system. Korea
Close to half of the population in South Korea is Christian,
giving Lutheran Hour Ministries (known as Korean Hour
Ministries or KHM) a strong Christian community to work
with. One program known as Jazz and Vespers helps

public interest as well as media attention, gaining

Laos
Laos, a country rich in history and culture, has an
extremely diverse population. In fact, there are more
than 47 different ethnic groups and tribes present.
LHM - Laos utilizes the Equipping the Saints
program to strengthen lay (everyday) people's understanding
and interest in their Christian faith as well as provide
them the practical tools needed for reaching the unchurched.
Teaching people of various social groups how to spread
the Gospel helps to relate to the wide variety of people
in the country of Laos.

Latvia
The Latvian Lutheran Hour (as LHM is known in Latvia)
has strived to use as many forms of media to spread
the Gospel as possible. So far, the ministry center
in Latvia has weekly national radio programs, dubs “This
is the Life” films in Latvian and sends them to
churches throughout the country, and produces a talk
show, which is aired twice a month on Latvian National
TV.

Lebanon
The Word of God is brought to the entire Middle East
and North Africa through Lutheran Hour Ministries –
Lebanon (Middle East Lutheran Ministry or MELM). Located
in Beirut, the MELM center produces Radio Programs of
a variety of formats such as Bible studies, meditations
coupled with hymns, and Bible readings with short commentaries.
These programs reach many countries throughout the region,
including Algeria, Cyprus, Egypt, Iran, Iraq, Jordan,
Libya, Morocco, Saudi Arabia, Syria, Tunisia, Sudan,
Kuwait, the United Arab Emirates, and parts of Europe.
The far reach of MELM’s radio programs leads to
a powerful Christian presence in the Middle East and
Arab world.

Malawi
Kuunika (Light) Media Ministry (as Lutheran Hour Ministries
– Malawi is known) continues its mission of “Bringing

Church in Malawi (ELCM), Kuunika Media Ministry works
to maintain the success of its outreach programs. One
program that inspires the people of Malawi is the Drama

in the fast – growing city of Tijuana, just across
the United States border from San Diego. CPTLN –

the Saints program. By training people of the community

Myanmar
Lutheran Hour Ministries in Myanmar is called “Word
of Hope.” This is a very appropriate name, being
that the most successful ministry programs in Myanmar
are concerned with bringing words of hope to people
in creative ways. Besides the always successful radio
programs, Word of Hope has implemented a unique Christian
karaoke program that brings the Myanmar people together
with the fun of interactive music, while still spreading
the message of Christ.

Lutheran Hour Ministries – Norway works closely
with the Nordic Radio Evangelistic Association (NOREA),
a non-profit Christian radio organization associated
with the Norwegian Lutheran Mission (NLM). Together,

languages for ministry outreach in Norway, as well as

The Lutheran Hour office in Panama, called Cristo Para
Todas Las Naciones (CPTLN), meaning “Christ for
All Nations,” has utilized a variety of media
to spread the Gospel such as radio and television. Project
JOEL (Youth with Free Spirits) and Equipping
the Saints, however, have enabled CPTLN –
Panama to effectively reach more people through interpersonal
experience. Project JOEL is a Christian witness program
that works with educators and students to offer Christian
guidance and support for many everyday situations. Equipping
the Saints trains lay (everyday) people to evangelize
their communities through interpersonal communication
and interaction.

Paraguay
Cristo Para Todas Las Naciones (CPTLN), meaning “Christ
for All Nations,” is what Lutheran Hour Ministries
is known as in Paraguay. Since Paraguay is such a remote
area, the most effective means of spreading the Gospel
are through interactive activities such as small group
Bible Correspondence Courses (BCC). These BCC
programs usually involve groups of 12 to 30 people who
gather to study the Bible and discuss how it relates
to their lives.

Russia
Extending across ten time zones, Russia's diverse ethnic groups share an interest in performing arts such as music and theatre. LHM-Russia reaches out to this culturally rich population through a variety of programs.
Slovakia
After 40 years of communism, which denounced Christianity
and enforced atheism, the people of Slovakia remain
skeptical of the Gospel. However, Christianity has become
the most widespread religion in Slovakia since the fall
of the communist regime. Despite obstacles from atheists
and the emergent Islamic faith from the South, LHM –
Slovakia (known as Evangelical Media Program or EMP)
has continued to grow in influence. Though it has a
small staff of three, EMP produces several radio programs,
five in-house documentary films, and more than 21 television
programs.

Lutheran Hour Ministries – South Africa has given
hope and love to the country’s prisoners. Prison
Ministry volunteers go to prisons and offer support
to Christian prisoners, as well as educate and interact

Sri Lanka
Lutheran Hour Ministries in Sri Lanka (known as Lanka
Hope Media or LHM) does not only bring people to the
church, but also brings Christian media to the people.
In a country where many areas remain poor and without
luxuries such as televisions, LHM found a way to bring
films with Christian messages to rural villages by projecting
the films on hillside screens or from the backs of trucks.
This enabled many non-Christians the chance to experience
the Gospel within their own communities.

Taiwan
Fortunately for the people of Taiwan, freedom of religion
is a constitutional right. This blessing helps LHM –
Taiwan, to use as many media outlets as possible to
spread God’s Word including a radio program called
“Happy Valley” which has aired for more
than 35 years and a web site that allows Chinese speaking
people all over the world to listen to radio programs
and bible studies.

on radio outreach because more Thais have radios than
telephones or televisions combined. JIL also continues

Uganda
Uganda has one of the highest per capita HIV/AIDS rates
in the world. It is estimated that 530,000 people are
living with HIV/AIDS in Uganda. The good news is that
AIDS prevention is making a positive difference and
the Lutheran Hour Ministries – Uganda (LHM –U)
office is active in this program. LHM – U staff
and volunteers attempts to relieve some of the suffering
of HIV/AIDS infected people by holding hands and praying
with the dying.

Venezuela
The Lutheran Hour office in Venezuela, called Cristo
Para Todas Las Naciones (CPTLN), meaning “Christ
for All Nations,” has combined Radio Outreach
and Print Materials to better support listeners
who want to know more about Christ’s message.
CPTLN – Venezuela produces both 30 – second
and one-minute radio programs that address real –
life problems such as worrying, gossip, drugs, sex,
depression, occultism, and family relations. These programs
are broadcast to more than 30 million people over 40
stations in Venezuela, the Dominican Republic, Spain,
and Cuba. Companion booklets are offered to people responding
to the radio ministries to further aid listeners’
Christian education.

Vietnam
In Vietnam, atheism is considered the “semiofficial”
religion. LHM – Vietnam (Voice of Hope) works
against these odds to build communities of hope and
love. Primarily, Voice of Hope distributes Bible Correspondence
Courses (BCC) in cooperation with 25 congregations throughout
the country. Evangelistic puppet shows demonstrating
Christian messages and stories are performed at these
churches as well.
